Where the heater physically goes

A storage heater needs a serviceable position with support and a drain path, commonly above the toilet ceiling. Boxing it in without an access panel converts a routine replacement into a demolition job.

Fittings: where saving money costs money

Mixer cartridges and concealed valve bodies are the parts that fail and the parts that are hardest to replace once tiled in. A cheaper visible spout is a reasonable saving; a cheaper concealed body is not.

Licensed work

Water service and sanitary works in Singapore must be carried out by a PUB Licensed Plumber, which is a separate requirement from your renovation contractor being listed in HDB's Directory of Renovation Contractors.
