A package is a scope, not a price

Supply, install, or supply-and-install

Every line in a quotation is one of three things: supply only, labour to install an item you provide, or supply-and-install. A quotation that does not state which is not comparable to one that does, and this ambiguity is the single most common source of renovation disputes.

Provisional sums and what they hide

A provisional sum is a placeholder for work whose extent is not yet known. It is legitimate for genuinely unknown items, and a way to make a total look smaller when used for known ones.

How payment should be structured
